New Delhi: After Cricketer Krunal Pandya, spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and K Gowtham have also tested covid positive in Sri Lanka.
“Unfortunately, they have tested positive. They were close of Krunal and were already away from the rest of the squad in the team hotel” said the sources.
Krunal Pandya was tested positive on Tuesday. Players- Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Manish Pandey , Ishan Kumar and K Gowtham were identified as close contacts.
These players were staying away from the rest of the team being in close contact with Pandya and avoided participating in the last two T20’s after Krunal was tested positive.
However, India got defeated by Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the thir and final T20’s, with the help of Wanindu Hasaranga’s four-wicket haul and Dhananjaya de Silva’s unbeaten 23-run knock.
Sri Lanka won the T20’s series whereas, India One Day International (ODI) series.
