The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the results of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XX, and the results indicate a significant increase in the pass rate. A total of 174,386 of the 251,968 applicants who took the exam on November 30, 2025, qualified, yielding a 69.21% pass rate. This impressive result indicates that law graduates are more prepared and competitive.
Excellent Results in AIBE XX
The 69.21% success percentage in AIBE XX indicates that more applicants are passing the qualifying criterion, in contrast to some previous exam editions where pass rates were lower. The test was administered at 399 locations across the country. Five questions were removed after examinees’ objections were reviewed, and two were given credit for having two correct answers when determining the results.
What Law Graduates Should Know About This?
For law graduates who wish to work in Indian courts, passing the AIBE is essential. In order to get the Bar Council of India’s Certificate of Practice (CoP), which permits them to practice law throughout the nation, candidates must pass the exam, which verifies that they have fulfilled the minimal requirements of professional competence.
AIBE XXI is Scheduled for June 7, 2026
AIBE XXI is set for June 7, 2026, for individuals who failed AIBE XX or intend to take the test for the first time. Online registration for the BCI will be available from February 11 to April 30, 2026; fee payment and application changes will be accepted through early May. Before the exam date, on May 22, 2026, the admit card will be made available.
