The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has opened the application process for the recruitment of Staff Nurse posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of BTSC at btsc.bihar.gov.in. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 11,389 vacancies across various healthcare institutions in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Staff Nurse posts must have successfully completed the General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.) course of the duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. The course should be completed from a recognized institute, and candidates must also hold the corresponding certificate. In addition, it is mandatory for applicants to be registered with the Bihar Nurse Registration Council, Patna.

The age limit varies according to category:

Unreserved category (male): Below 37 years

Unreserved category (female): Below 40 years

BC/OBC category: Below 40 years

SC/ST category: Below 42 years

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a combination of a written examination and work experience.

The written exam carries 75 marks.

Candidates’ satisfactory work experience will account for 25 marks. This dual evaluation method ensures that both knowledge and practical expertise are recognized in the recruitment process.

Application Fees

Candidates must pay the application fees as per their category:

General / Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class / Economically Weaker Section: ₹600/-

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (Permanent Residents of Bihar): ₹150/-

Female Candidates of Reserved/Unreserved Category (Permanent Residents of Bihar): ₹150/-

Candidates from outside Bihar (Male/Female, any category): ₹600/-

The fee must be paid through online modes such as debit card, credit card, internet banking, or UPI. Applicants are advised to keep a copy of the payment receipt safely for future reference.
