CAT 2025 Notification Released: Check Eligibility, Application Dates & IIM Admission Process

The CAT 2025 announcement has been made, and registration will begin on 1 August and will end on 30 November. Students interested in gaining admission in 21 IIMs can log onto iimcat.ac.in to participate in a two-stage selection process of WAT and PI.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has officially released the CAT 2025 on Sunday. The Common Admission Test is the entry portal to 21 IIMs or other institutes of Management in India. It is now time to prepare those MBA aspirants.

 Key Dates

Start Date of Registration: 1 August 2025

Date of Last Application: 13 September 2025

Release of the Admit Card: 5-30 November 2025

Date of Exam: 30 November 2025

Announcement of results: 1st week of January 2026

CAT 2025 Notification: Application Fees

  • General/OBC/EWS: Rs. .3000

  • SC/ST/ PwD: ₹ 1300

Eligibility Criteria

  • General/OBC/EWS: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 50 %

  • SC/ST/PwD: 45 % bachelor's degree

  • Final year students are eligible, but have to comply with the post-graduation criteria.

 How to Apply

  • Visit: iimcat.ac.in

  • Sign up using your email and mobile number.

  • Enter personal, Academic, and work information.

  • Upload a photo, a signature, and a category certificate.

  • Pay the app fee

  • Submit & download confirmation.

IIM Admission Process

1. Candidates Shortlisting

Using their CAT, academic performance, work experience, and category, IIMs shortlist candidates.

Each of the IIMs has its Cut-off percentage and other commitment requirements.

2️ WAT-PI Round

WAT (Written Ability Test): 

The candidates are expected to write an essay on a particular topic to determine their thinking and writing abilities.

PI(Personal interview): 

A face-to-face round to check the personality, communication skills, clarity of goals, and knowledge of the field.

There is also a possibility of some IIMs including a Group discussion (GD) as well.

3 Final Selection

A final merit list is drawn up at each IIM on the basis of:

  • CAT score

  • WAT & PI performance

  • Previous studies

  • Work experience (with or without)

  • Diversity (gender and academic background)

4. Admission Offer

  • The shortlisted applicants get offer letters from the respective IIMs.

  • Candidates have to accept their admission before the specified deadline.
