Anand Mahindra: In a recent event, the minister of education Dharmendra Pradhan replied to the tweet by Ananda Mahindra who had criticized Indian Universities in terms of quality. The list issued by the World of Statistics organization had been shared by Mahindra, which ranks India top in terms of the number of colleges.
Agenda of NEP is to internationalize Indian education-Dharmendra Prasad
In response to the tweet, the education minister of India Dharmendra Prasad stated that the agenda of NEP is to internationalize Indian education and to make it world-class. The goal is also to allow universal access to education by all people. The minister also asserts that the NEP is the way forward to quality education.
ODL programs for classes 3rd, 5th and 8th
The National Education Policy which was drafted in the year 2020 has brought in some ground-breaking amendments to the structure and the role of education in India. It introduces both formal and informal ways of learning, as well as a support structure for students in form of counsellors and trained social workers to help the students. It also plans to initiate ODL programs for classes 3, 5 and 8 which can be done through national or state institutes. Vocational education has also been made a part of NEP from preschool to senior education. The followers of Dharmendra Pradhan seem to be supporting the positive call of the minister towards NEP. On the other hand, some reactions on the delay on commencement has also been noticed.
