Exceptional Internship Program Revealed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change: An Opportunity Not to be Missed

The Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has pulled the curtains back on an innovative Internship Scheme, aimed at students and research scholars from accredited universities both nationally and internationally. The programme seeks to impart valuable insights into the workings of the government while also bolstering the Ministry’s analytical prowess through information collection and analysis.

Connecting Young Academia with Policy

This new scheme is designed to bring fresh academic talent into the heart of government work, driving mutual growth and development. Interns will gain first-hand exposure to the complexities of government functioning and the nuanced issues of regulatory and development policy. Their role would not be limited to observation only, they will actively contribute towards potential policy amendments through various inputs including empirical analysis, policy papers, and briefing reports.

Details, Duration, and Dividends

The internship period is set at a maximum of three months, conducted twice annually during summer and winter. Detailed schedules will be made available on the Ministry’s website. A gratuity of ₹ 10,000/- per month is to be given to each intern. The Ministry has outlined a clear policy for the disbursement and deduction of this stipend, focusing on maintaining intern engagement throughout the internship period.

Tech-Savvy Interns with Perks

This internship is designed for the modern age, requiring each intern to have their own laptop. The Ministry, in turn, will provide essential support such as workspaces, internet access, and other necessary facilities as deemed appropriate by the respective Division heads. Upon successful completion, interns will receive a certificate of experience, cementing their contribution to the Ministry’s work.

Eligibility and Exclusivity

The opportunity is open to all students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or research degrees from recognized universities in India or abroad. Notably, students from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) enrolled in MSc or PGDM courses will be given preferential consideration.

As the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change extends this groundbreaking opportunity, aspiring environmentalists from across the globe are encouraged to dive into this unique experience. A rare chance to combine academic knowledge with practical governmental work, this scheme paves the way for future environmental leaders.
