Viral Video: In a shocking development that has rattled the Indian education system, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially scrapped the NEET UG 2026 exam following sensational allegations of a question paper leak. The move has left 22 lakh medical aspirants in a lurch.
The Centre has now referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after reports suggested that several of the questions that were in circulation before the exam allegedly matched the paper that was actually conducted on May 3.

What Caused the Cancellation?
The controversy gained momentum when investigators reportedly discovered that more than 100 questions in a circulated ‘guess paper’ bore a striking similarity to those in the real exam. Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has launched a major probe and arrested several suspects in connection with the alleged leak network.
Initially, the NTA had dismissed the claims of leak and termed the social media posts that had gone viral as ‘fake’. But mounting evidence and pressure from students, parents and opposition leaders led authorities to reconsider the integrity of the exam.
New Exam for Students Soon?
NTA has also confirmed the NEET UG 2026 exam will be held again. However, no official announcement for revised dates has been made yet. It is learnt that the re-examination will not require fresh registration from the students.
According to education experts, the cancellation can cause a massive delay in counselling, admissions, and the academic calendar of the medical colleges across India.
Student Outrage, Political Pressure Mounts
The issue has sparked a nationwide uproar, with students frustrated after months — and in many cases years — of preparation. The internet exploded with reactions, calling for accountability and stricter exam security.
Opposition leaders also hit out at the government over repeated controversies related to the exam while the Centre maintained that the cancellation of the test was necessary to protect the honest candidates and to ensure credibility in the selection process.
