Flour mill owner’s daughter Komal Kumari scores 474/500, secures second-best in Bihar’s class 12th exams, brings glory to her neighbourhood

Bihar Board 12th Result 2023: The class 12 intermediate exam results for 2022–23 were released on Tuesday by the Bihar School Examination Board, or BSEB. By earning 474 points this year, Komal Kumari—a resident of Old Karimganj in the Gaya district of Bihar—became the state’s second-best performer in the commerce subject, bringing honour to the neighbourhood.

Wants to become a teacher

In Mirza Ghalib College in Gaya, Komal is a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) student. Komal had a natural aptitude for learning from the start. At the class 10 board exam, she also placed first in her school. Komal has credited her parents and her instructors for her accomplishment. Also, Komal is unique in that she wants to become a teacher in order to benefit society, as opposed to other top students who want to become IAS or IPS.

From Poverty To Success

Ashok Kumar, Komal’s father, makes a living by selling a flour and ancestors’ pottery, while Komal’s mother stays at home. Ashok Kumar added, “Even in poverty, both girls were educated so that they might serve society. When residing at home, she used to study day and night, Komal Kumari’s father continued.
