Goa: AAP volunteers to adopt govt-run primary schools

Goa: Kejriwal-led AAP government has volunteered to adopt government-run primary schools that may shut down or get merged with other institutions because of low enrolment. While speaking to the reporters, AAP’s Goa unit president Anit Palekar claimed that the Goa government wants to merge or shut primary schools that are operating with only one teacher or a limited number of students.

AAP’s Goa unit president met the director of education Shailesh Zingade and said that the party can adopt these schools and make a difference like the AAP government made in Delhi’s government schools. “Don’t look at us as a political party. We are willing to come forward and help to ensure that no student drops out of schools due to this decision by the state government,” the AAP leader said.
