IGNOU New Subject: IGNOU launches 4 new MSc programmes

IGNOU New Subject: School of Sciences of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started 4 new MSc (M.Sc) courses in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. These new courses are starting from July 2023 session. Students can apply for the new Masters course till July 15. For information, MSc Physics (MSCPH), MSc Applied Statistics (MSCAST), MSc Geography (MSCGG) and MSc Geo-informatics (MSCGI) are newly introduced courses. On this occasion, Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar has inaugurated new PG programs during the 28th Professor G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture.

Eligibility for MSc Programs

MSc in Applied Statistics

Graduate with BA or B.Sc Degree with Statistics or Mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognized University.

MSc in Geography: Graduation in any stream.

MSc in Geoinformatics: Graduate in any of the: Science, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Computer Applications, Information Technology from a recognized University OR MA in Geography from a recognized University.

MSc in Physics: Graduate with major or Honors in Physics, or B.Sc degree with Physics and Mathematics (including IGNOU B.Sc program under CBCS) or B.Sc degree from IGNOU or a recognized Open University with minimum 32 credits Physics And pass with one of the subjects in Mathematics.

In an official statement, IGNOU said, “With a commitment to foster cutting-edge research, practical experience and comprehensive theoretical knowledge, these courses are designed to equip students with the skills required in their respective fields.”
