We finally are suspending our hunger strike. We thank everyone who stood in solidarity with our struggle,” said a tweet from the “IIT Bombay Students Against Fee Hike” Twitter account.

The second phase of the hunger strike against the fee hike started on July 28, 2022, as the students demanded to withdraw the Boards of Governer’s resolution that suggested a 5% of annual fee hike and also include student representatives in the standing committee for students fee concerns.

As per the students, the administration has agreed to reduce the HAF amount of Rs 1800 and has provided the option of paying SMA in two instalments. The institute has also extended the deadline till August 31, 2022, for paying the fee.
