Student Union protest against the 60:40 scheme turns violent

Jharkhand has been witnessing massive protests by the students against the 60-40 planning policy. The Protestors blocked the areas around Shramik Chowk and Gaya bridge. The Jharkhand Students Union has also called a bandh on the 11th June. The entire traffic of the city came to a halt after the protestors blocked the roads. There were long queues forms across the roads and many vehicles connected with the emergency services also got stuck in the jam for hours. The cops somehow managed to clear the traffic and allowed the ambulances to pass first. The cops had to detain some of the student leaders who were leading the protest. The Students Union leader was also taken into custody.

The area Incharge reached the Gaya Bridge and took the protesting students into custody. The protesting students have also called a bandh tomorrow. Under the 60:40 scheme, the students union of the Jharkhand state are protesting under which 60 percent of the seats in the state government jobs are reserved for aspirants of the state while the other 40 percent is open to all. Meanwhile the students have launched 48 hour strike against the Government. This formula does not have a provision for the locals in the grade 3 and grade 4 jobs.
