Meghalaya Schools Reopening: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has announced the reopening of schools for students of classes 1 to 5 from February 14. It has also been said that for those who have taken both the vaccines, there will be no need to test for Covid-19 on entry into the state.
Sangma on Wednesday night chaired a high-level meeting to review the COVID-19 situation. He also said that the night curfew, applicable from 10 pm to 5 am, will be lifted from Friday.

The Chief Minister said, “Those who have taken both the doses of the vaccine will not require RT-PCR test upon entry into the state from Friday. Schools (from Class I to Class V) will open from Monday.”
Classes for classes VI to XII and in direct mode in colleges and universities were started only last week. Sangma also said that only fully immunized people will be allowed to enter bars, restaurants and cinema halls and the odd-even system will continue for vehicular movement in Shillong.
With the arrival of 125 new cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya on Wednesday, the total number of corona virus infections rose to 92,646, while the death toll rose to 1554 with the death of two more patients.
