The UGC-NET exam, scheduled for December 6 to December 22, 2023, aims to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor roles. In addition to the application deadline extension, the cutoff date for examination fee payments through various online modes has also been pushed to October 31.

Candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their online application forms from November 1 to November 3, 2023. The specific exam centre locations will be announced in the last week of November, and admit cards will be available for download from the NTA website in the first week of December 2023.

Application fees vary depending on the candidate’s category:

General and unreserved category applicants are charged ₹1,150, while general category candidates from the Economically Weaker Section/Other Backward Class/Non-Creamy Layer pay ₹650. SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, as well as those identifying as the third gender, are required to pay ₹325.

The UGC-NET, conducted by the National Testing Agency, is a crucial examination that assesses the eligibility of Indian nationals for the positions of ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges. The December 2023 UGC-NET examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for 83 different subjects, and applications must be submitted exclusively online.
