NCERT Rationalises Syllabus: Check out the removed chapters and topics for session 2022-23

NCERT RATIONALISE SYLLABUS

NCERT Rationalises Syllabus: NCERT dropped many topics of classes 6 to 12 from their textbooks to rationalise the syllabus for this academic session 2022-23 to ease the burden of students because of the pandemic from the last two years.

If we talk about class 12th textbook ‘References to the 2022 Gujarat Riots, the Cold War, and Mughal courts have been dropped’. Then From Class 11the textbook, industrial revolution have been dropped and from Class 7 textbook a few Dalit writers have been removed.

The process of syllabus rationalisation started off in December 2021 and the process has now been completed with the help of experts.

GUJARAT RIOTS REMOVED FROM NCERT SYLLABUS

According to the detailed rationalised syllabus PDF for Class 12 in the new academic year, under ‘Chapter 9: Recent Developments in Indian Politics’, the section on Gujarat Riots (pages 187 to 189) has been dropped along with Question 1(f) on page 194.

OTHER TOPICS REMOVED

For Class 12 in the syllabus, under ‘Contemporary World Politics’, the full chapter of ‘The Cold War Era’ has been dropped.

Under ‘Themes in Indian History—Part II’ in the Class 12 syllabus, the full chapter of ‘Kings and Chronicles; the Mughal Courts’ has been removed.

Topics Removed from class 7,8,9,10 And 11

In class 7 science syllabus full chapter of ‘Weather, Climate and Adaptations of Animals to Climate’ and from 8 science syllabus full chapter of ‘Pollution of Air and Water’ has been removed.

From class 9 syllabus selected topics of the ‘Climate’ chapter have been removed from the Class 9 syllabus.

In Class 10 syllabus full chapters of ‘Democracy and Diversity’, ‘Popular Struggles and Movements’ and ‘Challenges to Democracy’ have been dropped as well as selected topics of ‘Gender, Religion and Caste’ and ‘Forest and Wildlife Resources’ have also been dropped.

From class 11 the full chapters on ‘Poverty’, ‘The Central Islamic Lands’, ‘Peace’, ‘Development’, ‘Effective Communication Skills’ and ‘The Bases of Human Behaviour’ have been dropped.
