Candidates are urged to visit the official site regularly for the latest updates and counselling schedules. The NEET UG exam continues to be one of the most competitive entrance tests in the country, with only a limited number of MBBS seats available nationwide.
While NEET remains the gateway to medical careers, the growing number of aspirants and limited MBBS seats often leave many students exploring alternate paths. Fortunately, several other science-based healthcare careers offer prestige, stability, and financial growth.
1. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery):
This 5-year course allows graduates to become practicing dentists. With the demand for dental care rising in both urban and rural areas, BDS offers a strong career path with opportunities for private practice and specialization.
2. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery):
This 5.5-year course blends traditional Indian medicine with modern concepts. With increasing interest in Ayurveda globally, BAMS graduates are finding opportunities in clinics, research, and wellness tourism.
3. BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery):
Homeopathy continues to have a significant patient base in India. This 5.5-year course prepares students to become licensed homeopathic doctors, with options in both clinical practice and pharmaceuticals.
4. B.VSc (Veterinary Science):
Animal healthcare is a growing sector. A degree in veterinary science can lead to work in animal hospitals, zoos, or government veterinary departments.
5. Biomedical Engineering / Biotechnology:
With the intersection of medicine and technology, students opting for biomedical or biotech engineering can work in R&D, medical equipment innovation, or pharmaceutical companies. These 4-year programs are usually entered through engineering exams like JEE.
