Punjab Cheers Its Success With AIR 1
There is cause for celebration for Punjab since Aryan Gupta achieved a feat by managing All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the NEET UG 2026 examination with a score of 715/720. He bagged the top position along with Panshul Bansal from Haryana, but the final ranking was determined by the official tie-breaking rules. He attributed his success to his disciplined preparation, hard work, and the guidance of his teachers.

Rajasthan Dominates the Top 100
Although Punjab produced the AIR 1 topper, Rajasthan emerged as the biggest winner overall. According to the state-wise analysis released with the results, Rajasthan contributed the highest number of students in the Top 100 ranks, reinforcing its reputation as India’s leading hub for NEET preparation. The strong showing has once again highlighted the state’s coaching ecosystem, disciplined preparation culture, and consistently high-performing students.
Strong National Performance
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that over 11.21 lakh candidates qualified for undergraduate medical admissions this year. A total of 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, while 138 candidates secured more than 690 marks, reflecting an impressive improvement in top scores compared to the previous year.The results also showed that more than 58% of the qualified candidates were women, underlining the growing participation and success of female aspirants in medical entrance examinations.
Counselling Process to Start
Candidates who have completed the exam will be able to check their scorecard from the official NTA website and get ready for the counselling process that will take place soon for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other courses in medicine.
