UPSC CSE Mains Exam 2025:The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2025, which will run from August 22 to August 31. Strict rules have been put in place to make sure that the exam rooms are fair and orderly.

Must-Have Admit Cards and When to Enter

People who want to apply must bring a paper copy of their e-Admit Card and a photo ID card, like a passport, driving license, Aadhaar card, or voter ID. You can’t send in digital copies.

One hour before each session starts—at 8:30 AM for the morning session and 2:00 PM for the afternoon session—the test center will be closed to the public. People who are late won’t be allowed in, so it’s important to get there early.

There are clear rules against gadgets and other things

To protect the integrity of the test, UPSC has strictly forbidden many things, such as cell phones (even if they are turned off), smartwatches, pagers, Bluetooth devices, cameras, storage media, and other electronic gadgets. Even if they are carried by accident, these things could get you kicked out of the test or keep you from taking future ones.

Also, candidates should not bring bags, books, expensive items, or anything else they don’t need because UPSC doesn’t offer storage services.

Only necessary items are allowed in the hall.

Items that are allowed are:

  • Printing of the admit card
  • ID with a picture
  • A pen and pencil
  • Simple basic watch (not one of those smart or fancy ones)
  • Water bottle that is see-through (no labels or fancy patterns)

Other things, like snacks, drinks, or extra sheets, are not allowed in the Exam room.

Checking of the Answer Booklet Guidelines

All parts of the Question-and-Answer (QCA) paper must be filled out correctly by candidates. Important exam behavior includes:

  • Putting things exactly where they are supposed to go
  • Crossing out empty spaces before sending in

Giving back the question paper and answer booklet that have been separated at the end of each session
