UPSC Result 2025: In a now viral video, the grandfather of 113th rankholder Shikha Singh who achieved great result in the recently concluded Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination (CSE) could be seen weeping on the success of his granddaughter.

A resident of Ambedkar Nagar in the Kotwali Nagar area of Bulandshahr, Shikha is from a humble financial background. Her father, Prem Chand, works as a fourth-class employee at the Indira Gandhi Kanya Inter College. Financial situation of the family was extremely poor. Shikha’s father never asked her to stop pursuing educational dreams and Shikha continued so she could become financially independent.

In the video, the grandfather of Shikha who had previously worked as a peon could be seen sobbing while talking about her journey and success. Shikha achieved the feat in her second attempt.
Shikha completed her high school examination from Bada Village’s Chaudhary Veerpal Singh Inter College. She went on to complete intermediate studies from Gandhi Bal Niketan Kanya Inter College in 2013 and graduated with a BSc degree from IP College in 2016. In 2018, she completed her Basic Training Certificate (BTC) course from IP College.
Shikha’s elder sister works in Baharaich’s upper primary school as a teacher. Another sister works as a teacher in the state of Bihar while her younger sister is preparing for the UPSC examination. Her brother works as a wellness coach and mother is a homemaker.
