Actor-comedian Bill Cosby found guilty of sexually abusing minor in 1975

American comedian and actor Bill Cosby has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman, Judy Ruth, when she was a teenager. The incident took place in 1975.

The woman had testified that the comedian invited her and a friend to the mansion when she was 16, and he was 37. The woman claimed that Cosby took them to a house and served the underage girls alcoholic drinks, multiple times. Later, the 84-year-old took the teenagers to the Playboy Mansion. She alleged that despite knowing the age of the two young women, Cosby had instructed them, “that if any of the Playboy bunnies asked their age, they should say they were 19.”

The verdict has come out a year after Cosby was freed from prison when Pennsylvania’s highest court threw out his sexual assault conviction in a different criminal case there.

Bill Cosby is best known for his role as the lovable husband and father in the 1980s television comedy series The Cosby Show, which also earned him the title “America’s Dad.” But his family-friendly reputation was tarnished after more than 50 women accused him of sexual assaults over nearly five decades.

Over the years, the actor, through his lawyers has denied all the allegations of sexual misconduct. In addition, Cosby’s attorneys have even attempted to dismiss the case.
