Adidas breaks partnership with Rapper Kanye West, Details Inside

Adidas revealed on Tuesday that it is cutting ties with Kanye West. It was the most significant corporate fashion partnership of the rapper and designer’s career. After, he made a series of remarks and embraced a slogan associated with white supremacist. That series earned him a lot of fame. Adidas began collaborating with Mr. Kanye West nearly a decade ago, after he left Nike. Its partnership with Yeezy is estimated to be worth billions, making it among the largest sources of Ye’s wealth. For Adidas, working with Ye gives a boost to the company to create cool and increase credibility that helped in attracting high-fashion collaborators.

Adidas said in a statement, “the company will not tolerate anti-Semitism and other sort of hate speeches. Ye’s comments and actions are totally unacceptable, hateful and dangerous. They violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

The company said that it would terminate the partnership and stop payments to Ye and his companies. The move was expected to subtract up to 250 million Euros from the profit of the company this year. After this termination of partnership, Ye plans to open his own retail stores, as part of his rejection of the corporate world and creation of what he has.
