Adipurush controversy: Mukesh Khanna said makers should be punished, asks ‘Rs 600 crore kahan gaye?’

Adipurush controversy: Om Raut’s film Adipurush has found itself mired in controversies due to several reasons. The film has been receiving staunch criticism from audiences and critics for its poor VFX, cringe-worthy dialogues, and distorted fax in Ramayana. Amid the backlash, Mahabharat actor Mukesh Khanna has also weighed in on the controversy, sharing his two cents on the much-talked-about topic.

Makers of Adipurush should be punished: Mukesh Khanna

In an exclusive conversation with Times Now, Mukesh Khanna said the makers of the film should be punished, adding that the government of India should take the firm decision of banning the film just like Nepal did.

“Ram ki mooch hai. Usse much shuruaat se objection tha. Ram ki mooch nahin ho sati. Aap hote kan hain yeh kehne wale ki yeh aapka versions hai, hum toh aapke liye bana rahe the. Kya aap 10 Saal ki bachi ke liye bana rahe the kyunki usko hi aise language smash aayegi. Aam ki youth agar abbey tabbe mein baat karte hai toh sab kya aise hi baat karne lag jaaye. Ab kya aap Lord Ram ko pant shirt pehnaoge. Aap kisi aur dharm ke spath karke dikhao na. Aap roman era ko dhoti kurta aur tikka mein dikhayeye. So the damage is already done, five altered dialogues se kuch nahi hoga,” he said.

‘Rs 600 crore kahan gaye’?

Mukesh Khanna further said that the boycott of the film is the only decision, and changing the dialogue does not amount to anything. “There are two types of boycott – one where the film is still running in theatres but people are not going to watch it. The film should be in the interest of Hindu minds. The government of India should take a blatant decision of banning the film. Just like Nepal banned but their issue was the birthplace of Sita. If Nepal can do this, why can’t India.”

He further slammed the poor VFX of the film, questioning the money that went into making it. “Rs 600 crore Kahan Gaye? The film has B-grade VFXs. Gussa aata hai dekhke. It doesn’t satisfy us. There are various things that Manoj Muntashir should not have come in public and talked about. What reasons are there for making Hanuman speak in this lingo? I think they should be punished.”
