Ed Sheeran: Ed Sheeran announced his upcoming India Tour on his Instagram. This comes after the recent announcement of Coldplay's India tour with both taking place in January 2025. Does this announcement hint at India becoming a go to destination for International artists in the future?

Taking to his Instagram today Ed Sheeran posted his upcoming tour announcement which will see the Grammy winning artist tour India, Bhutan, Qatar and Bahrain in 2025. The Shape of You singer will be touring six cities namely Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Shillong and Delhi NCR. The tour will begin on 30th January with February 15th marking his final show in the country and the tickets will go on sale on 11th December. However, this is not the first time Indian audience get to see the singer live. Ed Sheeran sang to a packed crowd in Mumbai earlier this year, with moments from the concert being heavily shared on social media. He has also visited the country multiple times in the past with 2015 marking his first live performance.

After Coldplay, Now Ed Sheeran, Can Fans Expect More In The Future?

In the recent years there have been a lot of foreign artists who have performer in India. However, a tour is not something many have entertained. But with fans willing to see their favorite artists live, which led to Coldplay adding two more shows in Mumbai, it seems like there is value in doing a music tour in India. The British rock band is also going to perform in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on 25th January 2025.

Why Are Musicians Eyeing The Indian Market?

The recent trend in artists hosting music tours in India is one to look out for. With Coldplay announcing four dates during their "Music Of The Spheres" World Tour and Ed Sheeran touring six cities for his Indian fans, this can easily start a domino effect for future music tours here. India is a huge market with people willing to spend on premium experiences. This is evident by Coldplay adding two more dates after noticing overwhelming demand for their live show in Mumbai. Similar story is set to play out when the tickets for Ed Sheeran's tour go on sale. Moreover, all this sets a great president for other artists to consider India for a tour, if not at least a concert. Artists whose music tour will makes senses are pop acts like Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo to name a few. These artists have fanbases that would be willing to pay premium to see their favorite artists live.
