After Coolie Director’s Film Gets Shelved, Another Aamir Khan Project With Rajkumar Hirani Put On Hold Due To Actor’s SHOCKING Demand?

Aamir Khan’s ambitious biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke with Rajkumar Hirani has been put on hold after the actor asked for a script rewrite.

Aamir Khan is back in the news with a shocking update on his much-talked-about biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke. The actor had earlier confirmed that he would team up with director Rajkumar Hirani for the film. But now, reports say the project has been put on HOLD because Aamir has asked for the script to be rewritten.

Why Did Aamir Khan Ask Rajkumar Hirani To Rework The Script

As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, Aamir was not fully convinced after hearing the script from Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi. A source told the portal, “Aamir Khan heard the script of Dadasaheb Phalke from Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. He felt that the script didn’t have enough elements to make it suitable for a theatrical release. He expected Raju and Abhijat to follow their usual approach of blending laughter with emotion and drama. But the script lacked comedy, which raised doubts in Aamir’s mind, prompting him to ask Raju to rewrite it.”

Because of this, the film has been delayed. Fans will now have to wait longer to see Aamir and Hirani come together again after hits like 3 Idiots and PK.

Who Was Dadasaheb Phalke?

Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, better known as Dadasaheb Phalke, is called the father of Indian cinema. In 1913, he made Raja Harishchandra, India’s first full-length feature film. He also directed classics like Lanka Dahan, Shri Krishna Janma, and Kaliya Mardan.

To honour his legacy, the Government of India introduced the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1969. It is still given every year at the National Film Awards as the country’s top recognition for lifetime achievement in cinema.

When Did Aamir Khan Announce This Biopic?

Aamir had announced the biopic in May this year with huge excitement. The project was described as a tribute to Phalke’s life and his work. Writers Hindukush and Avishkar Bhardwaj had spent four years working on the script. To recreate the old era, top VFX studios from Los Angeles were already designing AI-based visuals.

The project also had personal support from Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, who shared anecdotes from his grandfather’s life to make the story richer. Fans were thrilled, especially as this was going to be another Aamir-Hirani collaboration.

This delay comes soon after another Aamir film with the Coolie director Lokesh Kangaraj got shelved due to creative differences.
