Legal troubles have once again brought Ameesha Patel into the spotlight. After Rajpal Yadav recently made news for his own legal issues, reports now claim that Patel is facing a non-bailable warrant. According to updates, a Moradabad court issued the warrant in connection with a 2017 cheque bounce and event dispute.
However, the actor has strongly dismissed the reports. She described the case as an “old and settled matter”. Patel also stated that her legal team will respond firmly. In addition, she hinted at taking action against the complainant.
Ameesha Patel Reacts To Moradabad Court Proceedings
On Monday, reports suggested that a Moradabad court issued a non-bailable warrant against Ameesha Patel. The warrant is linked to a complaint filed by Pawan Kumar Verma, the owner of a Moradabad-based company. The dispute reportedly relates to a 2017 cheque bounce and event booking case.
Soon after the news surfaced, Patel addressed the issue on Instagram Stories. She shared a note clarifying her position. Ameesha wrote, “Media reports suggest about certain proceedings at Moradabad by one Pawan Verma. I wish to inform one and all that this is avv old matter which was years back in which the said Pawan Verma had signed a settlement deed and received the entire agreed amount.”
She insisted that the matter had already been resolved. She further added that her lawyers would initiate criminal proceedings of cheating against Pawan Verma.

Meanwhile, court sources indicated that the warrant was issued due to Patel’s absence from a scheduled hearing. She has now been directed to appear before the Moradabad court on March 27.

What Is the 2017 Event Dispute?
The case goes back to a complaint filed by event organiser Pawan Verma. He alleged that Ameesha Patel was hired to perform at a wedding event on November 16, 2017.
According to Verma, an advance payment of Rs 14.50 lakh was made. He also claimed that Patel’s stay was arranged at a hotel on Delhi Road in Moradabad. However, Patel allegedly did not attend the event.
The organiser further stated that after several discussions, she promised to return the full amount. The court later took note of the complaint, which led to renewed proceedings.
Patel’s absence at a recent hearing reportedly resulted in a non-bailable warrant.
Notably, this is not the first time the actor has faced cheque bounce-related allegations.
