Actor Allu Arjun, along with the producers and director of Pushpa 2: The Rule, has announced a financial aid of Rs 2 crore for the family affected by the tragic incident during the movie's premiere at Sandhya Theatre on December 4. The gesture aims to support the family of Revathi, who lost her life, and her son Sri Tej, who remains critically injured.
Allu Arjun and Team’s Financial Support
Allu Arjun, a popular actor known for his generous nature, contributed Rs 1 crore to the family. Mythri Movies, the producers of the film, extended an additional Rs 50 lakh. The film’s director, Sukumar, also pledged Rs 50 lakh. Together, the contributions total Rs 2 crore to provide immediate relief and long-term support to the grieving family.
Family Updates and Recovery Efforts
Allu Arjun’s father and veteran producer Allu Arvind personally met Sri Tej, who is undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital. After speaking with the doctors, Allu Arvind expressed hope for the boy’s recovery. Sri Tej’s father, Bhaskar, shared that the family noticed some progress after 20 days of treatment, including body movements and moments when the boy opened his eyes, although he has yet to fully recognise his surroundings.
Telangana Government Joins Hands
The Telangana government has also extended its support to the family. Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, provided a cheque of Rs 25 lakh. Bhaskar acknowledged the combined efforts of the government and Allu Arjun in easing their burden during this difficult time.
Legal Proceedings Against Allu Arjun
The incident, which led to a stampede at Sandhya Theatre, resulted in a legal case against Allu Arjun. He was arrested on December 13 under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder but was released on interim bail the next day. The Chikkadpally Police questioned him for over three hours regarding the incident.
