Amir Khan: “If I hurt anyone, I regret it”, on boycotting Lal Singh Chaddha trend

Amir Khan: Bollywood superstar Amir Khan is all set for the release of his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, a highly anticipated film ever since it got announced. Lately, the film has been trending on the list as trolls on social media are calling for a “boycott” of the film.

On Tuesday, during a press conference Amir Khan reacted to the ongoing controversy. He said “If I have hurt anyone by any means, I regret it. I don’t want to hurt anyone. If someone doesn’t want to watch the film, I’d respect their sentiment.”

Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, is an official remake of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump. Aamir plays the titular role and Kareena Kapoor is his love interest.

Prior to this, Director Advait Chandan hit back at trolls for claiming that trolls were “paid” in order to give the film more attention. His reaction, in an Instagram story, stated: “I am told there are people being paid to troll Aamir Sir. This deeply upsetting to hear and it’s outright unfair. Why have I been trolling him for free?” and added the hashtag #PayEveryTroll.

All this boycott trend started after an internet user found an interview of Amir Khan in 2015 in which he said that his then-wife Kiran Rao suggested they move to countries due to “growing intolerance” in India.
