Amitabh Bachchan, while terminating his contract with Kamala Pasand Company, insisted that he was not aware that it came under surrogate advertising. After this, Amitabh, taking a historic step, has sent a legal notice to the Pan Masala Company to stop their advertisements. A recent ETimes report suggests that despite the termination of the endorsement agreement, pan masala brand Kamala Pasand continues to air TV commercials featuring Amitabh Bachchan.
Quoting sources, it has been written in the report that it has been learned from Amitabh Bachchan’s office that a legal notice has been sent to Kamala Pasand, asking to immediately stop the telecast of TV commercials of Amitabh Bachchan. In a statement issued by Amitabh Bachchan while terminating the contract with the company, it was said that Amitabh Bachchan approached the brand a few days after the Kamala Pasand ad aired and pulled himself out of it last week.
The statement further said that when it was ascertained why he did this, it was revealed that when Amitabh joined the brand, he was not aware that it came under surrogate advertising. He has terminated his contract with the brand. With this end, he has also returned the amount which he got for promotion.
Actually, for a long time, Amitabh Bachchan was being trolled for his Paan Masala advertisement, only after which he took this big step. Even when he ended his contract with the pan masala brand, he was trolled.
