Amitabh Bachchan shares video of rare planetary alignment, user say, ‘pls don’t mislead with wrong information’

Amitabh Bachchan: In a rare celestial event, five planets—Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Uranus and Mars appeared aligned on Monday night. Many people shared photographs and videos of the magnificent views in the night sky. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who is a self-professed space enthusiast, too shared a video on Instagram of the rare sight. It showed the five planets aligned in a straight line.

Bachchan shared a spectacular video of the night sky, but netizens were quick to point out that the same clip has been doing the rounds of the internet for a few months.

The actor wrote on Instagram,, “What A Beautiful Sight…! 5 Planets Aligned Together Today… Beautiful And Rare… Hope You Witnessed It too.” Commenting on it, actor Shilpa Shetty wrote, “Wow.”

But some users claimed that the video posted by Bachchan was old and the alignment witnessed on Monday night was different. A user wrote, “Sir @amitabhbachchan with due respect, pls don’t mislead with wrong information. Atleast verify the authenticity of the video before posting anything on social media. This video is a month-old video posted on YouTube. Here is the link –

‘Not individual planets each’

Another user commented, “The first magnification with 5 bright spots are not individual planets each. They are actually Jupiter and its Galilean moons and that position of Jupiter (being so near to moon in sky) wasn’t something that was witnessed today. The second magnification with Jupiter in focus near the horizon was the actual event that happened today. Along with that, Mercury would have been visible near Jupiter and moving up the horizon comes the planets Uranus, Venus and Mars.” A third user wrote, “ Bro has the power of NASA.”

The celestial alignment happened in June last year when Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn stretched across the sky. They were aligned from low in the east to higher in the south in the order of their distance from the Sun.
