Emergency was declared across the country on 25 June 1975 at the behest of the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Jayaprakash Narayan had started a nationwide movement against Indira Gandhi at that time. In which all the opposition parties got together and got involved in the movement against Indira Gandhi.
