Anushka Sharma is preparing to make a comeback with her film Chakda ‘Xpress, which will be released on Netflix. The actress will play Jhulan Goswami, an Indian woman cricketer, in the film. It is directed by Prosit Roy and produced by Karnesh Ssharma’s Clean Slate Filmz. Anushka was most recently seen in Aanand L Rai’s 2018 film Zero, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Anushka took to her Instagram story earlier today to wish her brother Karnesh Ssharma a happy birthday. She shared a previously unseen photo of her brother holding Vamika in his arms. “Love you,” Anushka wrote.

Chakda ‘Xpress’ is her first film following the birth of her daughter Vamika in 2021, whom she and husband Virat Kohli welcomed into their lives. When the film was announced in January and the teaser was released, Anushka said, “Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket.” When Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and represent her country on the international stage, it was extremely difficult for women to even consider playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several events in her life as well as in women’s cricket.”
