On January 23, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul married in a small ceremony at her father Suniel Shetty’s Khandala property. The actor lives in a large bungalow in the middle of wilderness, surrounded by hills and vegetation on all sides. For the main wedding ceremony, white flowers were used to decorate the location, while yellow marigold flowers were used to decorate the venue for the haldi ceremony. Rani Pink Love, the wedding planner, posted on Instagram, shared a picture of the decorating for the pre-wedding puja and the concept behind the décor.

The wedding planner wrote, “This morning was ethereal! @athiyashetty @klrahul. This venue was special. Beautiful old trees layered in jasmine strings, beds of mogra and the most gorgeous linen in old world brocades hand dyed in our soft mint palette. Athiya & I had a dream to make each celebration memorable, detailed and full of heart.”

The pre-wedding puja was held beneath a massive tree with white jasmine and mogra strings hanging from above. Large baskets of white flower petals were placed on each side of the white sofa, where Athiya sat for the puja in a beige sari. The same decor was employed for the main wedding ceremony, where Athiya and KL Rahul exchanged pheras against the backdrop of the Khandala hills.

According to the wedding planner, every layer of the decor was detailed, and the plot for each day was different, but the design base remained the same. The caption on the photos of the site dressed out for the haldi ceremony read: “The haldi was a blooming marigold garden with layers from floor to ceiling. We detailed every tiny corner. It was intimate and beautiful. The sun was shining, marigolds were dancing and there were two families celebrating love !”
