James Cameron is back with Avatar Fire and Ash, but fans have mixed reactions to the latest buzz around Avatar 3. The first poster introduces the new villain Varang, but the trailer’s exclusive release in cinemas has upset many fans.

The much-awaited trailer will only play before Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps this weekend. Fans who skip theatres will miss a first look at Pandora’s next chapter. The official Avatar X account said this move is part of a “strategic partnership” between Disney’s big releases.

The film releases on December 19 in India and globally, while Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are lined up for 2029 and 2031. Fans on social media have called out the decision.

A user wrote on Twitter, “Having a trailer play only in theatres is crazy. Who do they think they are?” Another joked, “I’m gonna watch a version from someone’s cell phone on TikTok, just as James Cameron intended.”

First Look At Villain Varang From Avatar 3

The poster reveals Oona Chaplin as Varang, the fierce leader of the Mangkwan Clan (also known as the Ash People). She will play a key role in the upcoming conflict on Pandora.

20th Century Studios also shared the poster and wrote, “Meet Varang in Avatar: Fire and Ash. Be among the first to watch the trailer, exclusively in theatres this weekend with The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Varang’s intense look on the poster has left fans curious about her character.

What’s In Avatar Fire And Ash Trailer?

The trailer (first shown at CinemaCon in April) picks up after The Way of Water. It introduces two new Na’vi tribes  - the Wind Traders (who use balloon-like contraptions) and the Fire People (who ride fiery beasts). A scene showing a Na’vi warrior being hit by a flaming arrow hints at intense action.

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is at the heart of the drama and tells Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), “We can not live like this, baby. We can not live with this hate.”

Are you excited to watch the film and the fiery battles on Pandora?
