Baahubali The Epic Box Office Collection Day 8: Prabhas’ Re-release Fails To Make Big Records, Nears Its End While The Taj Story Holds Strong

Prabhas’ Baahubali The Epic re-release earned Rs 0.80 crore on Day 8, indicating the end of its theatrical run. Meanwhile, The Taj Story held steady with Rs 0.90 crore despite facing competition from new releases.

Prabhas’ Baahubali: The Epic re-release is nearing the end of its theatrical run, and the box office numbers tell a different story than expected. While the film opened well with nostalgic buzz and fan excitement, its collection trend has steadily declined over the week.

Baahubali The Epic Box Office Collection Day 8

According to early estimates, Baahubali: The Epic earned around Rs 0.80 crore on Day 8, taking its total collection to approximately Rs 31.50 crore in India. The Telugu version continues to lead the chart, but footfall has dropped significantly since the first weekend.

The re-release had opened with a strong Rs 9.65 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 7.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.30 crore on Sunday. However, weekday numbers fell sharply, with collections ranging between Rs 1.55 and Rs 1 crore. The latest figure confirms that the film’s re-run momentum has slowed down despite its iconic status. This re-release is heading towards the end of its theatrical run.

Trade experts believe the nostalgia factor helped the film initially, but the audience’s short attention span and new content in theatres diverted interest. The film might still surpass Tumbbad and Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-release record, but it’s far from setting any extraordinary benchmark for a film by SS Rajamouli.

The Taj Story Box Office Collection Day 8

Meanwhile, The Taj Story continues its steady run on lower levels despite tough competition. According to sources, the film collected around Rs 0.90 crore on Day 8, showing resilience against multiple new releases, including Haq, The Girlfriend and Jatadhara.

Though its numbers remain modest, the film’s consistent performance across weekdays proves that it has benefited from the controversial storyline. Industry trackers suggest that The Taj Story might either see a slight dip or a jump over the weekend, depending on audience turnout and reviews. However, it won’t be able to recover the Rs 25 budget and end up as a disaster.
