Haryanvi actress Anjali Raghav has expressed her distress following an incident at her live show where Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh touched her waist inappropriately. Although Pawan Singh has apologised, the matter still seems unresolved. Anjali revealed that she has been deeply troubled since the event and said she may approach the police in Delhi if the harassment continues.
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Anjali Raghav said, “Ye sab Pawan Singh ki PR team kar rahi hai. Kisi ne mujhe kaha tha ki unki PR team bahut strong hai aur aapko badnaam kar degi. Wahi ho raha hai.”
This was her first media interaction since the incident in Lucknow.

On the evening of August 29, during a live show in Lucknow, Pawan Singh reportedly touched Anjali Raghav’s waist on stage. The incident was caught on camera and went viral the next morning. Anjali posted her first reaction on Instagram, saying she was mentally disturbed and hadn’t expected the act. She initially thought it was due to a tag on her blouse and chose not to react on stage. She also announced that she would no longer return to the Bhojpuri industry.
By the evening of August 30, social media trolling had begun. Old song clips were edited to defame her, and she was labelled even as a “porn star.”
On August 31, Pawan Singh issued a public apology via Instagram story. He said he couldn’t watch Anjali’s live stream because he was busy but felt bad when he heard about the incident. He added that he had no bad intentions and sincerely apologised if his actions made her uncomfortable.
Anjali later reshared the story and said, “Haan, inhone galti maani hai aur maine maaf kiya.” Later, she claimed that Pawan Singh’s PR team pressured her to change the wording to just say “Thank you.”

When asked if she would return to Bhojpuri films, Anjali said: “Nahi, ab bilkul nahi. Maine 15 saal pehle bhi kuch kaam kiya tha, par tab main industry mein nayi thi. Ab man hi nahi hai wapas jaane ka.” She also mentioned that her industry peers are upset, feeling that Haryana’s reputation was hurt.
On social media trolling, she added, “Bahut trolling ho rahi hai. Purane gaane ki clips cut-cut kar ke mujhe badnaam kiya ja raha hai. Mere friends aur family baar-baar mujhe posts bhej rahe hain. Mujhe bardasht nahi ho pa raha.”
She also confirmed that she plans to file complaints against the trolls in Delhi. “Haan, trolling karne walon ke khilaf Delhi mein complaint darj karvaungi. Ye sirf meri nahi, har ladki ki ladai hai.”
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also condemned the incident and praised Anjali for speaking out. They urged the National Commission for Women (NCW) to take immediate action and assured full support for any legal or professional measures she takes against Pawan Singh.
Known for Haryanvi hits like Solid Body, Hai Ni Meri Moto, and 36 Phone, Anjali originally wanted to be a teacher. However, after her father tragically died in a hospital fire, she pursued acting and dancing.
