Pop star Dua Lipa is officially engaged to British actor Callum Turner. But while fans flooded social media with congratulatory posts, Indian rapper Badshah found himself trending for all the wrong reasons.

Netizens remembered the rapper for his old comment where Badshah once said he’d rather “make babies” with Dua than collaborate with her. The remark (widely criticised when it was first made) has brought him more trolling after the engagement news dropped.

Soon after the engagement was confirmed, social media was flooded with jokes targeting Badshah. Users couldn’t resist and made funny comments on “DJ Waley Babu” singer.  One wrote, “Badshah raat bhar daaru piyega aaj.” Another posted, “Gian bhai crying in corner.”

A third user wrote, “Gian ko ek bazaar fir shizuka nahi mili.” Another added, “Bechara Badshah.” One more commented, “Ek sad song toh banta hai.”

Dua Lipa On Getting Engaged To Callum Turner

Dua Lipa gave a calm and happy confirmation in her interview with British Vogue. She said, “Yes, we’re engaged.” This has finally put the months of speculation to rest.

She also revealed that Turner designed the ring himself with the help of her sister and friends. She said, “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.”

Although the engagement is official, there’s no rush to the altar. Dua Lipa is currently touring for Radical Optimism, and Turner is filming. “Callum’s shooting, so we’re just enjoying this period,” she added.

She also shared that marriage wasn’t something she had planned or dreamed about. “I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding. All of a sudden I’m like - Oh, what would I wear?”

For the unversed, the couple began dating rumours in early 2024 after being spotted dancing at the Masters of the Air afterparty in LA. Since then, they’ve been spotted on multiple outings in New York.
