Rapper Badshah has finally reacted after his latest song Tateeree sparked a major controversy online. The song faced heavy criticism for its lyrics and visuals. Many people accused the rapper of using provocative content that disrespects women and shows Haryana’s culture in a negative way.
As the backlash grew on social media, Badshah shared a video on Instagram to respond to the criticism. He apologised to his fans and especially to people from Haryana. The rapper also confirmed that the song is being removed from different platforms.
In the video, he said, “My new song Tateeree has been released, and I see that the message conveyed through its lyrics and visuals has hurt the sentiments of many people, especially my own Haryanvi community.”

Rapper Faces FIR, Police Begin Underway
The controversy had already reached the legal stage before his apology. According to Haryana Police, an FIR was registered after a Panchkula resident filed a complaint against the rapper. Police invoked sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, along with section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with obscene acts and songs.
In an official statement, police said strict action has been taken in the case. The statement said, “Taking a strict stance against the spread of objectionable content on social media and in songs, Haryana Police has initiated major action against singer Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah.”
Authorities also raised concerns about the music video. According to investigators, the video allegedly shows minor girls in school uniforms throwing away their bags and running away from studies.
Police said some lyrics also appear to contain derogatory expressions about women and girls. As a result, multiple police teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at different locations. The rapper has also been asked to appear before officials.
The matter has also reached the Haryana State Commission for Women, which has issued a summons to Badshah.
Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda criticised the portrayal of schoolgirls in the video. He said the way students and culture were shown in the song is unacceptable.
Despite Badshah’s apology and the decision to remove the track, the controversy around the song continues to spark debate on social media.
