Bandar Trailer: ‘I Am Innocent…’ Bobby Deol Keeps Repeating, Anurag Kashyap Explores Dark Side Of False Allegations Against Men – WATCH

Bandar trailer shows Bobby Deol battling shocking allegations in Anurag Kashyap’s dark thriller. Check it out below!

The much-talked-about Bandar trailer is finally out, and it has already sparked intense discussion online. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film stars Bobby Deol in one of his darkest and most emotionally intense roles yet. The trailer dives into themes of false allegations, public judgment, dating app culture and the emotional collapse of a man trapped in a legal nightmare.

Released on Thursday (May 21), Bandar trailer presents Bobby Deol as Samar Mehra, a former television star whose life spirals out of control after he meets a woman through a dating app. As the accusations against him grow more serious, Samar repeatedly insists – “I am innocent” while struggling to prove his side of the story.

Bobby Deol Plays A Troubled TV Star In Bandar Trailer

The trailer introduces Samar Mehra as a flawed and complicated character. He openly admits that he sometimes feels scared of himself. At one point, he says he sees himself as a good man, while at other times he questions whether he is actually terrible.

Things take a dramatic turn after Samar meets a woman played by Sapna Pabbi. Soon, he finds himself accused of rape, blackmail and extortion. While Samar claims he has been falsely accused, the police begin investigating his personal chats and behaviour.

One tense scene in the Bandar trailer shows officers confronting him over alleged private messages where he asked younger women for intimate photos. Samar calls the woman a “stalker,” but the trailer hints that the legal system may already have turned against him.

A striking line shown in the trailer reads, “Justice swipes left,” hinting at the film’s central conflict and emotional tone.

With Bandar, Anurag Kashyap appears to explore the darker side of public accusations and media trials. The film arrives just months after his sister Anubhuti Kashyap directed Accused, another project linked to #MeToo themes.

Bandar trailer avoids loud courtroom drama and instead focuses on psychological tension, emotional breakdown and social judgment. Sanya Malhotra plays Samar’s lawyer, while Saba Azad appears as one of his love interests. The film also claims to be inspired by TRUE events.

Bobby Deol Opens Up About Working With Anurag Kashyap

The actor had earlier spoken about his experience working on the film and admitted that the project pushed him completely out of his comfort zone.

In an interview with SCREEN, Bobby said, “I knew I would learn so much from him as an actor. I was out of my comfort zone. There was no workshop. He did not even give a script.”

The actor also revealed that after the success of Animal, he tried to understand what connected audiences so strongly with his performance.

He said, “I wondered what I did differently in Animal that people look at me differently. I rewatched Animal. Still, I did not find the answer. I hardly slept for an hour and the next day shot for 12 hours. However, once I was on the set everything flowed smoothly.

Written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, Bandar has also been co-directed by Sakshi Mehta Lau alongside Anurag Kashyap. Before its theatrical release, the film was screened at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in the Special Presentations section, where it generated strong curiosity among viewers.

Bandar is now set to release in theatres on June 5.
