Kapil Sharma has joined the global food business with his new cafe in Canada. The comedian and TV star recently opened Kaps Cafe in Surrey with his wife, Ginni Chatrath.

This pastel-themed cafe with blush-pink interiors and floral decor serves a mix of Indian flavours and cafe favourites. From gur wali chai to lemon pistachio cake, the menu is a blend of comfort and nostalgia. Even during its soft launch, Kaps Cafe pulled big crowds, especially from the South Asian community.

But Kapil Sharma isn’t the first Indian celebrity to open a restaurant abroad. Before him, many stars stepped into the food industry worldwide and left their mark.

Cricketer Suresh Raina runs Raina in Amsterdam, serving authentic Indian dishes to the European crowd. Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor owns The Yellow Chilli in California, showcasing his signature recipes.

Chef Kunal Kapur’s Patiala in Dubai is another popular Indian fine-dining restaurant with creative dishes.

Other Indian Stars In Global Food Scene

One of India’s most celebrated chefs, Vikas Khanna, runs the Michelin-starred Junoon in New York City. Known for elevating Indian flavours while staying true to their roots, the restaurant has earned global praise. Khanna, a chef and author, has long been an ambassador for Indian cuisine on the world stage.

Bollywood actress Esha Gupta also opened Casa Salesas in Madrid, Spain. Instead of Indian food, her restaurant serves Spanish brunches, healthy dishes, and fine wines, offering a local taste to the Madrid crowd.
