Bengali actor Sonali Chakraborty passes away at 59, CM Mamata Banerjee expresses grief

Bengali actor Sonali Chakraborty died at a private hospital in Kolkata on Monday due to a prolonged illness.  The Bengali actor was 59 and she is survived by her actor-husband Shankar Chakraborty and their daughter. Sonali Chakraborty was a famous Bengali actor and she was suffering from liver disease for a long time. She was getting treatment at the hospital for months.

Sonali Chakraborty was a part of the popular Bengali shows Gaatchora. This show had Solanki Roy and Gaorub Chatterjee in the lead roles and Sonali has given an amazing and stunning performance in this show. Sonali and her husband are the popular and talented actors of Bengali cinema. They have worked together in numerous Bengali television shows and movies. The couple worked in many shows as anchors as well and the shows became popular.

She also appeared in films such as Dadar Kirti (1980), Har Jeet (2002) and Bandhan (2004). Chief Minister of Bengal Mamata Banerjee expressed her grief over the demise of Bengali cinema’s talented actor, extending condolences to the bereaved family.
