Bengaluru composer Ricky Kej wins his third Grammy, dedicates the award to India

Ricky Kej: Bengaluru based composer Ricky Kej won his third Grammy at the pre-main event ceremony. Ricky was nominated for his Divine Tides was the Best Immersive Audio Album category. He took to Twitter to share this incredible feat by writing: “Just won my 3rd Grammy Award. Extremely grateful, am speechless! I dedicate this Award to India. @copelandmusic Herbert Waltl Eric Schilling Vanil Veigas Lonnie Park.” With this, Ricky Rej is the only Indian to have won three Grammy Awards.

Ricky Kej wins third grammy

Indian composer have scripted history by winning his third Grammy for his Divine Tides Audio Album. Other songs in the category included: Christina Aguilera (Aguilera), The Chainsmokers (Memories… Do Not Open), Jane Irabloom (Picturing The Invisible- Focus 1), and Nidarosdomens Jentekor & Trondeheimsolistene (Tuvahyun – Beatitudes for a Wounded World).

Ricky Rej arrives in Bandhgala

The musician embraced his traditional roots and showed up at the event in a beige bandhgala kurta paired with white pajamas. This was his third Grammy win. Earlier, he had won the award for the same album along with rock legend Stewart Copeland. In 2015, he won his first Grammys for Winds of Samsara.
