Besahram Rang controversy: Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali says a new Bollywood reminds him of his song 'Ab Ke Hum Bichare,' netizens draw similarity with Shah Rukh Khan's song

Besharam Rang controversy: Trouble continues to mount for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. Besharam Rang, a song from the film, has not been received well by the audience, with Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanding makers to alter some sequences from the film and song. In another unfortunate turns of events, renowned Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali's latest social media post has raised eyebrows if Besharam Rang is copied from singer's hit “Ab Ke Hum Bichare" song.

Is Besharam Rang copied from Sajjad Ali song Ab Ke Hum Bichare?

A few days ago, Paksitani singer Sajjad Ali took to Instagram wherein he is heard singing his song Ab Ke Hum Bichare. "After listening to a new movie’s song, It reminded me of my song I released 26 years ago, Ab Ke Hum Bichare. Enjoy!!” he captioned the video. While the singer did not name the song which reminded him of his own composition, quick witted netizens easily pointed out how similar Shah Rukh Khan's new song sounds to Ab Ke Hum Bichare. Ruling out that it can be a coincidence, some internet users were quick to malign Bollywood as many claimed Hindi Film Industry is a habitual cheater. "Besharam song based on Sajjad ali music composition indian alway pirate our music composition and they did not even give credit to our Pakistani singers,'' one use wrote, while another user wrote ''Shahrukh Khan Pathan Movie Song Copy By Pakistani Singer Sajjad Ali Song Must watch share and decide for yourself Thank You''

CBFC demands changes in Pathaan

Recently, former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani had slammed CBFC, saying the body must have got pressurised by the ministry.Meanwhile, Prasoon Joshi said, “CBFC always has a tough task to strike the right balance between audience sensibilities and creative expression and we have stayed true to this spirit in the certification on film Pathaan too.”
