Film critic Sucharita Tyagi wrote, "@anubhavsinha has poured every last emotion of his into his new film, a fictionalised account of things we saw play out and have chosen to forget, turning our eyes away, ignoring the “unpleasantness” of it all. I have watched #Bheed and I urge you do the same this weekend."

The censor board may delete "India ka partition lag raha hai" from the movie #Bheed but how will it delete reality?

This was the reality I saw on #24March2020 #DoNotForget the unplanned inhuman #Lockdown inflicted upon the migrant workers. pic.twitter.com/0OkNHpv1bW

pic.twitter.com/oTpwH0ybnW
The controversy surrounding the trailer of Bheed has escalated after a dialogue in the film that compared the 2020 Covid Lockdown to the partition of India was criticized by many. In response to the backlash, director Anubhav Sinha defended his use of the comparison, saying, “Comparing the Covid lockdown to the partition was my personal voice. Every filmmaker tries to assimilate events and the effect it had on society through his perception and interpretation.”
