Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has finally confirmed that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 is officially in the works. The director opened up about the future of the beloved horror-comedy after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 completed one year since its release.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Bazmee revealed an interesting coincidence. “Coincidentally, today is my birthday. So Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released last year on my birthday, not by design but coincidentally. One year later, the film continues to resonate with the audience. It is everyone’s favourite blueschaser.”
Kartik Aaryan Confirmed For Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, But What About Vidya Balan And Madhuri Dixit?
The director praised Kartik Aaryan, who reprised the popular ‘Rooh Baba’ character in the third instalment and helped revive the franchise’s magic. Bazmee shared, “Bachche ne kamaal ka kaam kiya. The world would have never known of his fabulous comic timing if it weren’t for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. I am planning a couple of comedies with Kartik.”
He then confirmed that the fourth part will indeed feature Kartik again. “Most definitely. It is a work in progress. The love that the series has accrued over the years is unsurpassable. So yeah, it is happening. The only factor that I can confirm is Kartik.”
Will Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit also return? Their presence in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was a memorable highlight, and fans have been curious about their future in the franchise. Bazmee talked about his experience working with them. “The two legends together, they never let me feel I was working with legends. They were punctual, disciplined, competitive and yet collaborative. Bohat maza aaya.”
When asked if they will return for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, Bazmee kept the suspense alive. He said, “It could! On the other hand, we may have some other actress who has never been part of the franchise before.”
