Awez Darbar entered the Bigg Boss 19 house on the premiere day with Nagma Mirajkar, whom he is reportedly dating. Brother-in-law of Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan, Awez quickly grabbed attention with his honest and emotional personality.
Bigg Boss 19 Contestant Awez Darbar Praises Sidharth Shukla
In a recent interview with Viral Bhayani, Awez revealed that his favourite Bigg Boss season was Season 13, featuring the late Sidharth Shukla. He said, “Usmein har chiz thi. Shehnaaz was a fun character. Asim aur Sidharth ka banter. Woh jo dosti unki thi aur kaise dosti se dushmani bani, aur phir end tak sort ho gya. (Everything was good there. Shehnaaz was a fun character. Asim Riaz and Sidharth’s banter was good as they were friends, but later turned enemies). It had everything.”
Awez also shared why Sidharth Shukla impressed him. “Mujhe Sidharth Shukla ka character bohot pasand tha, his personality was sooo strong. Khali fokat nahi lada woh insaan, kisi ne kuch kiya hai tabhi hi. (I liked Sidharth Shukla’s character and personality. He did not pick up a fight without reason.”)
He added that Sidharth’s forgiving nature stood out. Even after fights, if someone apologised, Sidharth would forgive them, which was his strength and fairness.

For those unaware, Awez is the younger son of renowned music composer Ismail Darbar. He rose to fame as a TikTok star and later started a YouTube channel in 2014, sharing dance videos. Along with his brother Zaid Darbar and Tejal Pimpley, he runs the dance academy B You Academy, launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2019. Professionally, Awez is a social media influencer and choreographer.
Interestingly, he admitted that he didn’t seek any advice from Gauahar Khan before entering Bigg Boss 19. On the premiere, fans saw a more vulnerable side of him as he broke down, while other contestants quickly began making their presence felt.
The current season features a mix of actors, singers, and influencers. Alongside Awez and Nagma Mirajkar, the contestants include Gaurav Khanna, Amaan Mallik, Kunickaa Sadanand, Nehal Chudasama, Zeishan Quadri, Pranit More, Ashnoor Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj, Mridul Tiwari, Baseer Ali, and Natalia Janoszek. Salman Khan continues to host the show.
While others have started the noise inside the house, Awez is yet to reveal his strategy. Fans are eager to see how he plays the game in Bigg Boss 19.
