Bigg Boss 19 has once again found itself in the middle of controversy. This time, it’s over a shocking moment that left viewers furious. Contestants Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri have drawn criticism for body-shaming fellow contestant Ashnoor Kaur during a live feed.

In the viral clip, Tanya and Neelam were seen discussing Ashnoor’s weight gain. Tanya commented that despite working out regularly, Ashnoor had still “put on weight.” Neelam added that her gym efforts seemed “pointless.” They even criticised her outfit from the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, saying it didn’t suit her body type. Tanya went on to say that the dress would have looked better on her or Neelam.
The conversation didn’t stop there. Tanya was later heard saying, “Fugge jaisa mooh lekar ghoom rahi hai,” while Amaal remarked that Ashnoor “looks like an egg.” Neelam followed with, “Dadi lag rahi hai,” and Shehbaaz added, “She does so much exercise, but remains moti.”
These comments quickly went viral and triggered massive backlash online. Fans accused the contestants of bullying under the guise of entertainment. Many pointed out that Ashnoor is only 21 and doesn’t deserve such insensitive remarks. One fan commented, “Ise kehte hain jab mukabala na kar pao toh burai karna start kar do.”

Soon after, several celebrities came forward to support Ashnoor. Her Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Rohan Mehra shared a strong message on social media and said, “Body shaming is unacceptable. Shame on you.”
Actress Sumbul Touqeer Khan also expressed her anger through an Instagram story. She wrote, “Kindness is too expensive for these people to have!!! Stay strong Ashnoor. The audacity to bodyshame the prettiest girl in the house, funny people.”
Ashnoor’s close friend and actress Jannat Zubair also slammed the housemates. She wrote, “A person’s body is not public property for jokes and opinions. It’s 2025. We should’ve evolved past body shaming by now. She’s on that stage because she’s talented, confident, and unstoppable, not because she fits someone’s idea of a ‘perfect body.’ Proud of you, @ashnoorkaur, for holding your head high and being you!”
Former Bigg Boss contestant Rajiv Adatia also reacted strongly. He wrote, “Body shaming Ashnoor really?? Is that how insecure you guys are?? She has more dignity and class than all 3 of you put together! #bb19 more power to you Ashnoor!”
Content creator Awez Darbar too stood by her, reposting the viral video with the caption, “Disgusting remarks like always!!! But I know @ashnoorkaur is strong she will handle it with grace.”
