Music composer Amaal Mallik, who entered the Bigg Boss 19 as a popular and respected name in the industry, has become one of the most talked-about contestants. While he has managed to build a strong fan following inside the house, he has also faced intense backlash and trolling online. Now, his father (veteran musician Daboo Mallik) has spoken about the hate, regret and emotional struggle the family is dealing with.
Deboo Mallik Feels Amaal Mallik Shouldn’t Have Signed Bigg Boss 19
In a recent interview with SCREEN, Daboo expressed how the constant negativity has taken a toll on him and the family. He said they never imagined this level of criticism. According to him, the hate feels personal.
He shared, “What is hurting most is the tirade of negativity that happens. I never thought of ourselves as stars. We are normal musicians. But suddenly, the explosion that has happened shows that the power of Bigg Boss is too big, so many things have happened. I have never been exposed to this kind of language that people have been using. At this age, I cannot hear abuses like these.”
He then opened up about how trolls even target his parenting. Daboo said, “I have been targeted for my upbringing. As a father, I am being doubted, wrong things are being told to me, and I am listening to everything. You cannot stop anyone.”
Daboo admitted that he initially thought the show would help Amaal connect with fans and showcase his music and personality. But the reality turned out very different. He said, “I should have done some research before he signed the show. We had a different idea in our minds; we wanted to achieve things by the book. We thought there would be an exposure, but what has happened is very outlandish.”
Despite all the drama and criticism, Daboo believes his son has already proven himself. He said, “At this particular stage, I think Amaal has already done what he is supposed to do. He has shown whatever he had to. He has been called two-faced, slammed, so I don’t want anything. He has already won for me.”
Why Amaal Mallik Is Hated By Many BB 19 Viewers?
Amaal’s journey inside the Bigg Boss house has been intense. Viewers have criticised him for his anger issues, abusive language and harsh interactions with contestants like Farhana Bhatt and Malti Chahar. Fans also called him “two-faced” after he denied knowing Malti, only to be exposed by former contestant Awez Darbar and Malti herself.
Many viewers also accused him of misogyny after he used feminine clothing references to insult another male contestant. Even actor Gauahar Khan criticised his remarks as disrespectful. Besides this, he has faced heat for backbitching about every other contestant (even his friends) inside the show. Gauahar Khan, Zeishan Quadri and Nehal Chudasama went on to call him ‘Dogla.’
