BLACKPINK: BLACKPINK’s vocalist, Jisoo, has been diagnosed with COVID-19 amidst the BORN PINK world tour, leading to her temporary absence from upcoming concerts in Osaka, Japan. Jisoo began experiencing mild flu-like symptoms, which resulted in a positive test for the virus.

YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s managing agency, reported on the fan community Weverse that Jisoo was confirmed to have COVID-19 on June 1st. The singer initially exhibited cold-like symptoms on May 30th. A home test kit initially reported negative results, but further testing led to the unfortunate confirmation of her condition.

Jisso Prioritises Health Over Performance

Despite her strong desire to perform and honour the commitment made to eagerly waiting fans, Jisoo chose not to participate in the upcoming performances. She prioritised the safety and health of all involved, including her co-artists.

Between March 31 and April 6, the album sold an impressive 1.17 million copies, setting a first-week sales record for a K-pop female solo artist and earning the Million Seller accolade.

BLACKPINK, as a group, continues to bask in worldwide success and adulation. With 1.8 billion views on YouTube, ‘Kill This Love’ is another success in her kitty. This significant achievement was recorded just over four years after the video’s release.
