Varun Dhawan Trolled After Border 2 Makers Drop His First Look From The Film

A Reddit user shared the poster on the platform, which took online users into discussion mode. Check out some reactions below:

“Varun is pakka dying in this movie, yeah?”

“Looks like a kid got Holi ki pichkari for the first time.”

“This guy will make the film a major flop like all the films he does.”

“Ah, I had a feeling he would go this direction. Every failing actor with multiple flops eventually goes for Indian army movies, as they will at least get the nationalistic crowd. Smart move from him but also probably a symbol that his career is in the toilet.”

“Isme bhi overacting lag rahi hai.”

“Just open the border, let him leave.”

“His last hope.”

About The Sequel

Border 2 is not just another war film, but a sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border. The original (directed by JP Dutta) starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Akshaye Khanna. It became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 1997 and is still loved for its emotional story and powerful war scenes. The film was based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war and earned over Rs 600 million worldwide.

Nearly 30 years later, the makers return with the next instalment. Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. The film will release on January 23, 2026 during the Republic Day weekend.

Bhushan Kumar earlier spoke about bringing the film back. He said, “Border is more than a film, it’s an emotion for every Indian. With Border 2, we aim to carry forward that legacy and bring it to a new generation.”
