Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2‘ has proven to be an unstoppable force at the box office, aiming for the ₹500 crore mark. The Anil Sharma-directed film, a follow-up to the 2001 hit ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, has been creating waves since its release. On its second Wednesday, the movie added a staggering ₹10.40 crore to its collection, as early estimates from Sacnilk.com indicate. The film’s total collection now stands at an impressive ₹411.10 crore.
OMG 2’s resilience amidst ‘Gadar 2’ onslaught
While ‘Gadar 2‘ has been hogging the limelight, ‘OMG 2’ is no pushover. Starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, this sequel has managed to hold its ground despite the ‘Gadar 2’ wave. The movie, releasing alongside the heavyweight contender, has garnered a commendable ₹123.73 crore in its first 13 days.
The box office journey for ‘OMG 2‘ has been a mix of highs and lows. While it has displayed consistency, its collection seems to have plateaued around the ₹3 crore mark over the past few days. This stagnation raises questions about whether it can maintain its momentum, especially with Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl 2‘ ready to hit theaters.
